About the Role

This role is accountable for shipment processing (finished goods/non-finished goods), scheduling pick-ups, and creation of shipment documentation. In addition, the position is responsible for updating internal tracking systems and communicating shipment status to requestors. The role supports continuous improvement activities, assists with physical inventories and cycle count activities, and ensures compliance with established Sox Controls and Import/Export regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure SAP transactions are performed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of inventory and data entry reports.
  • Assist with physical inventories and monthly cycle count activities.
  • Analyze and investigate inventory variances; implement corrective actions to reduce/eliminate variances.
  • Assist with finished goods and WIP inventory activities.
  • Process outbound shipment requests and prioritize based on delivery dates.
  • Process offsite warehouse shipment requests and update internal tracking systems.
  • Support the creation of shipping export/import documents.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Serve as a back-up to other key Inventory Control positions.
  • Promote good housekeeping and safety practices.
  • Maintain proper communication and foster team building.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required; college coursework, certification, or formal training highly desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years of warehouse (shipping/receiving) experience.
  • Cycle counting experience is beneficial.
  • SAP experience preferred.

Skills

  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures and practices.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and functions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer applications (SAP experience a plus).

Pay

$18.89–$26.44 hourly.

Physical Requirements

  • Will sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Will climb stairs or steps on a frequent basis.
  • Will lift up to 58 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 37 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Will push or pull up to 50 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 37 pounds of force on a frequent basis.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • 20/40 vision in each eye (with or without correction), ability to distinguish between red, yellow, and green, and peripheral vision greater than 70 degrees.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., steel-toed shoes, cut-resistant gloves, jackets, aprons, arm guards, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators) as a condition of employment; little or no facial hair may be required.

This position reports to the Manager of Inventory Control and does not have direct reports. No travel outside the worksite is required.
