As an Inventory Specialist, your work ensures accurate inventory records, supports uninterrupted production, minimizes waste, and helps maintain the highest food safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP and warehouse management systems to support operational efficiency and inventory integrity.
- Perform daily, weekly, and periodic cycle counts while investigating discrepancies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce product loss.
- Coordinate raw material, packaging, and finished goods availability with production schedules to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Issue, stage, and replenish materials for production lines, helping teams meet productivity and customer demand goals.
- Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and specifications while supporting accurate receiving and shipping processes.
- Track lot codes, expiration dates, and FIFO/FEFO requirements to maintain product traceability and recall readiness.
- Support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance by maintaining accurate documentation and audit-ready inventory records.
- Generate inventory reports, analyze trends, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction.
Requirements
Operations run across day, evening, and overnight hours to keep production moving. Shift Time: 8 - 5:00pm Schedule: Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends, overtime, and flexible hours as required to support production and inventory operations.
Qualifications
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of inventory control experience in food manufacturing, CPG, distribution, or other regulated environments
- Experience using ERP and warehouse management systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of inventory accuracy, cycle counting, reconciliation, FIFO/FEFO, and lot control practices
- Understanding of food safety requirements, GMPs, HACCP, SQF, FDA regulations, and traceability processes
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting tools
- Experience in temperature-controlled, refrigerated, or perishable goods environments preferred
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma exposure preferred
- Forklift certification preferred, where applicable
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work in warehouse, production, and refrigerated environments
