Responsibilities

  • Verify credentials of new employees before hiring, in addition to employees seeking transfers/promotions.
  • Help maintain record of employees' certification statuses.
  • Aid the staffing department in complying with federal, state, and local regulations regarding teacher certification and assignment requirements.
  • Serve as the district’s point of contact for correspondence with the Texas Education Agency and the State Board of Educator Certification.
  • Assist with projects related to federal and state regulatory reporting.
  • Aid in establishing, preparing, and monitoring procedures to ensure all reporting meets regulatory guidelines.
  • Aid in facilitating a transparent system for eligibility in accordance with state law and board policy.
  • Communicate and correspond with employees, HCM staff, and candidates on the status of the certification process.
  • Collect and monitor statistics and results to track progress toward assigned individual and department goals.

Qualifications

  • Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a directly related field preferred
  • Experience in understanding state regulations regarding educator certification
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information and sensitive data
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office Professional
  • Adaptability to changing work requirements based on seasonal volume of candidates
  • Effectively communicate in verbal and written form with candidates and staff regarding certification
