Specialist Exercise
About the role
The Specialist Exercise will coordinate with the cardiac conditioning nurse to manage routine operations of the cardiac-conditioning program. The role involves facilitating patient functional progression by adhering to exercise principles as prescribed according to specific cardiac diagnoses. Additionally, the role includes educating patients, family, and community members about cardiac disease processes, medications, and lifestyle health behaviors.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate routine operations of the cardiac-conditioning program.
- Ensure adherence to exercise principles as prescribed for individual patients with specific cardiac diagnoses.
- Support patient progress by integrating appropriate referral and counseling abilities into routine care.
- Conduct recruitment of prospective program participants.
- Motivate patients to achieve quality results and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Conduct ongoing patient assessments to address educational, physiological, and emotional needs.
- Offer education related to the cardiac disease process, medications affecting hemodynamics, and exercise regimes.
- Teach coronary risk factor information to patients, family, and community members.
- Integrate appropriate referral and counseling abilities into routine care of patients.
- Perform ongoing patient assessments regarding educational, physiological, and emotional needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Physiology.
- Bachelor's of Arts in Exercise Physiology or equivalent degree.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire.

Pay
The posted compensation range is $56.06 - $65.27 /hour, reflecting the lowest to highest pay CommonSpirit Health believes it might offer for this position, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit Health may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Schedule
The schedule is Monday - Friday, 0700-1530 hours, with a total of 48 hours per week.
