About the Role
This position is part of Carnival's Global Sales and Trade Marketing organization, supporting sales and customer support efforts for the trade distribution channel. The Specialist works closely with Carnival’s Travel Agency partners, the Carnival Sales team, digital systems teams, and Carnival's internal contact centers. The role supports shoreside business activities with limited exposure or interaction with Carnival shipboard colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Manage existing account growth via an outbound sales program, driving incremental growth from a dedicated portfolio of travel agency accounts.
- Conduct account research to identify performance history, customer purchase motivations, and create customized account management approaches.
- Achieve sales and performance targets within an assigned portfolio.
- Oversee B2B customer engagement channels, including community engagement and comment management for 5+ Facebook groups and inbound emails.
- Provide guidance to trade partners on commission management, booking policies, and other topics.
- Collaborate with Carnival contact center coaches and sales colleagues to balance customer-centricity with business needs, driving NPS and future expansion.
- Onboard newer and growing travel agencies, consolidating CCL content with agency interests, performance stats, and objections to create compelling content.
- Guide and support agency partners via digital/remote tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom) to increase brand engagement and grow bookings.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for industry and company trends, incorporating research into sales techniques and sharing knowledge across the Business Development team.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by department leaders.
Problem Solving & Impact
- Gain access and appointments with travel agency accounts that have not actively worked with Carnival recently.
- Change opinions and mindsets of travel agencies with brand affinity toward competitors.
- Adjust sales messaging based on customer responses.
- Oversee a substantial portfolio of newer or high-growth-potential travel agencies, ensuring they grow and outperform prior years.
- Drive significant impact on ticket revenue and travel agent NPS scores.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of phone-based sales or customer service experience.
- High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred but not required.
Skills
- Excellent customer service skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for professional interactions in person, via email, and phone.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a promoter of teamwork.
- Proficient in using web browsers, internet search, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships and collaborate effectively.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes and cross-training requirements.
- Technical knowledge to troubleshoot and leverage internal IT applications and databases.
Schedule
This is an in-office role requiring employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from home on Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
