Responsibilities
- Serve and promote a safe environment for hotel guests and team members through keen observation.
- Stand at stationary or mobile posts inside or outside the hotel as directed.
- Respond to suspicious, unusual, or emergency situations using appropriate escalation of force, including armed response, following established protocols.
- Handle emergencies such as bomb threats, medical incidents, deaths, domestic disturbances, and other crises with a calm demeanor.
- Maintain proficiency in the use of assigned protective equipment and firearms.
- Use rapid and sound judgment in responding to unusual or emergency situations with appropriate force.
- Patrol the property continually to assess and observe potential threats or suspicious activity.
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy toward guests, co-workers, and individuals on the property at all times.
- Address problems or incidents on the property and communicate with supervisors during shifts.
- Take control during emergencies, instructing co-workers, team members, and guests on the best course of action.
- Complete investigations and reports by gathering detailed information (who, what, where, why, how).
- Use a computer report-writing system to complete and follow up on reports.
- Maintain constant contact with guests and team members to provide optimal service and gather pertinent information.
- Liaise with outside law enforcement agencies (e.g., Police, Fire Department, FBI, Secret Service, Governmental Officials) with professionalism.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Requirements
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in security, investigations, law enforcement, self-awareness training, or risk management (or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience).
- Prior law enforcement experience or honorably discharged Veteran with Combat Arms Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) or SOF experience.
- Must maintain appropriate Gaming License and Alcohol Awareness card.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record per company standards.
- Must maintain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
- Current Nevada CCW or LEOSA card (candidate has 130 days from date of offer to obtain if not already held).
Skills
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills for accurate report writing.
- High-level interpersonal skills to engage with business contacts and team members at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and engaging presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in firearms, specifically pistols, including weapons handling and marksmanship.
- Advanced computer skills with VMS, investigative, and access control software systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to perform simple math and complete complex reading, writing, and task-oriented assignments.
- Skills in compiling, coordination, analyzing, supervising, instructing, driving, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem-solving, independent judgment, and decision-making.
- Flexibility to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends as business needs dictate.
Physical Demands
The role involves:
- Constant standing and walking during shifts.
- Frequent balancing and occasional sitting, reaching overhead, bending, crouching, kneeling, or climbing.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25 lbs frequently or up to 100 lbs occasionally, depending on shift assignment.
- Occasional driving, depending on shift assignment.
- Constant repetitive use of feet and hands, with frequent light and occasional firm/strong grasping motions.
- Occasional finger dexterity required for both hands.
- Constant use of vision abilities, including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

Work Environment
- Work is performed frequently indoors and outdoors, alone or with others.
- Extended shifts with face-to-face and verbal contact with others, including around computer equipment and electrical devices.

- Moderate to loud noise levels, with potential exposure to vibrations, fumes/odors, and/or secondhand smoke.
