What You Will Do
- Performs specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician.
- Explains the procedure to the patient and preps the patient for the procedure.
- Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
- Circulates during the procedure and maintains responsibility for patient comfort.
- Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
- Removes catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
- Provides necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
- Records and processes hemodynamic reports, contrast media records and charges promptly and accurately.
- Communicates equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
What You Need
- Associate's degree from an approved school of Radiologic Technology or Cardiovascular Interventional Technology program required; or an ARRT or RCIS graduate from a Cardiovascular Interventional Training program; or two years' work experience in Interventional Radiology or similar modality.
- Registered as Radiologic Technologist through ARRT (R) or RCIS certification required.
- BLS Provider (CPR) certification required.
- AACLIS preferred.
- Advanced certification required within one year of hire date (ARRT CV, CI, or VI).
