Peoria Spine is seeking a skilled and motivated Special Procedures Radiologic Technologist to join our team full-time. If you’re experienced in advanced imaging procedures and passionate about providing exceptional patient care, this role offers the opportunity to grow within a supportive, specialized clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Review physician orders and determine required imaging procedures
- Assist physicians and fellow Rad Techs with complex special procedures
- Position patients to achieve high-quality, clinically useful images
- Explain procedures, answer patient questions, and ensure patient comfort
- Document patient medical history, procedures performed, and maintain accurate records
- Prepare and set up procedure rooms, ensuring all sterile and non-sterile supplies are available and functioning
- Operate and adjust imaging equipment, setting appropriate exposure factors
- Perform quality control tasks, monitor equipment performance, and report issues to management
- Coordinate workflow and support other Rad Techs when multi-person procedures are required
- Assist with general administrative tasks such as answering phones and scheduling
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in radiologic technology
- ARRT Certification (Required)
- 2–4 years of special procedures experience in a hospital or clinical environment
Knowledge
- Routine fluoroscopy and imaging of the head, spine, and extremities under physician supervision
- Examination protocols, sterile technique, and special procedure workflows
- HIPAA, OSHA, and radiology safety regulations
- Departmental safety and infection control procedures
Skills
- Strong technical skill producing high-quality radiology exams
- Proficiency entering and retrieving patient information from EMR systems
- Ability to maintain positive, professional interactions with patients, families, and staff
- Experience with imaging equipment, fluoroscopy, and film/digital processing
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
