About the Role

The Special Events Specialist assists with the creation, management, direction, and facilitation of special events from initial planning through completion and post-event analysis. This role operates within Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies, Internal Control Standards, and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing strategic special events with property teams to increase brand awareness, drive revenue, and enhance guest loyalty.
  • Maintain frequent communication with property teams regarding event updates, timelines, and activities.
  • Work promotional events and meetings as needed.
  • Maintain records of scheduling, evaluations, daily tasks, attendance, and payroll for Special Events.
  • Provide input for future promotions and attend necessary meetings.
  • Coordinate setup and execution of parties and giveaways, including slot/table tournaments, gift giveaways, scratch-offs, and car giveaways.
  • Assist in setup and testing of new promotional software and train others as needed.
  • Supervise Special Events in the absence of the Corporate Special Events Manager.
  • Research and propose new event opportunities based on strategy, demographics, and marketing analysis.
  • Manage all aspects of on-the-day event execution, pre/post-event planning, and logistics.
  • Provide event overviews, briefs, and recaps for each event.
  • Report on pre/post-event analytical numbers.
  • Create and maintain program reports as required.
  • Assist with logistical relationships with event vendors and interface with outside vendors for event design and production.
  • Review events based on response, customer feedback, and incremental income.
  • Use the ACSC Computer System to review patron eligibility, status, and promotion outcomes.
  • Assist in creating and assembling memos, SGA submissions, event information sheets, ProFormas, database requests, and check requests.
  • Submit requests to the advertising department to ensure timely and cost-efficient creation, printing, and mailing of promotional materials.
  • Perform SWS data entry for Purchase Requisitions and BPO entries.
  • Communicate event logistics and internal planning with other departments.
  • Schedule and coordinate on-property meetings to review events.
  • Maintain budgets, ProFormas, and cost tracking for all events.
  • Provide the Seneca Gaming Authority with all necessary documents for event production and implementation.
  • Input data in group tracking reports for events, promotions, or direct mail analysis.
  • Assist in organizing floor-themed events and promotions.
  • Maintain a current understanding of information security policies, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
  • Promote positive public and guest relations in all communications and during events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Maintain a professional work environment with team members, supervisors, and corporate teams.
  • Adhere to attendance guidelines, regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Complete all required SGC training programs within nine months of employment.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • 3+ years of experience in event planning; casino player events preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Proven communication, negotiation, financial accounting, and budgeting skills.
  • Strong technical, computer, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Experience with ACSC or other casino/property management systems, including knowledge of player ratings, promotional setup/issuance/redemption, and marketing-related information.
  • Experience with Bally BI (GUI) or other casino-related Business Intelligence and Campaign Management solutions.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately loud; on the casino floor, it increases to loud.
  • Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
  • Must have excellent aural abilities.
  • Must maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
  • Must effectively interact with customers, management, employees, and business community members in all situations.

Pay

Starting rate: $49,069.41. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
