Contract Specialist
About the role

This position is responsible for drafting, reviewing, redlining, negotiating, and administering engineering, consulting, and construction contracts. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and decision-making skills, the ability to identify and mitigate contractual risk, and the ability to work effectively with executive leadership and clients.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise a variety of contract documents, including non-disclosure agreements, master service agreements, engineering agreements, joint venture agreements, construction contracts, and related legal documents.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions in alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and risk management objectives.
- Work closely with executive management to support business goals and ensure contractual commitments align with organizational priorities.
- Review contractual and business risks and recommend practical solutions to reduce exposure.
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal stakeholders while supporting strong business relationships.
- Assist with special projects and other assignments as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business, insurance, engineering, law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience drafting, negotiating, analyzing, and interpreting contract documents.
- Strong ability to assess and manage contractual risk.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make administrative and procedural decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and professionally.
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of contractual matters.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, as needed.
Schedule
This position allows for a hybrid work schedule with the expectation of 3 days in our downtown Chicago, IL office and 2 days working remotely from home.

Pay
Compensation Range: $89,450.00 – $129,490.00
