Contract Specialist
Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Contract Specialist. In this role, the successful candidate as the Contract Specialist is a member of the Supply Chain Management team and supports the Strategic Sourcing function. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contracts within Strategic Sourcing.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and draft contracts, including vendor agreements, service agreements, master agreements, statements of work (SOWs), and related documents
- Negotiate and redline contract terms with vendors and partners independently or in collaboration with Strategic Sourcing, escalating to Sourcing Leadership or the Office of the General Counsel as needed
- Manage contract databases and ensure accurate tracking of contract terms, milestones, and renewals
- Monitor and report on contract performance and compliance
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts align with organizational and mission-driven goals
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams on contract-related matters in accordance with OGC guidelines
- Contribute to the development and implementation of contract management processes, procedures, and administration of internal contract management systems (CMS)
- Assist with training, coaching, and onboarding of new contract management team members or Sourcing team members
- Perform other Supply Chain Management or contract-related duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Business, Law, or a related field or Juris Doctor
- 5+ years of experience in contract management or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred experience in the healthcare industry and/or with facilities, IT, and professional services contracts
- Experience utilizing AI for contract drafting and negotiation
- Strong understanding of contract principles and practices
- Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze and clearly communicate complex issues
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with contract management software
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
