About the role
We're seeking a passionate, part-time bilingual Special Education Teacher to support students and families across multiple elementary schools in Salinas, CA. This 9-month contract begins September 7, 2026, and offers approximately 20 hours per week at a competitive $60/hour rate.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students receiving special education services
- Support students in inclusive and specialized learning environments
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, specialists, and families
- Participate in IEP development and implementation
- Deliver push-in and pull-out services across elementary campuses
- Help bilingual students thrive academically and socially
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Special Education Credential: Mild/Moderate OR Moderate/Severe
- BCLAD Authorization required and verifiable through the California CTC
- Ability to travel between elementary school sites within the district
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Must meet all state and district requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Previous Special Education teaching experience
- Experience serving bilingual student populations
- Knowledge of IEPs, compliance, and evidence-based instructional practices
