Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher at AIM, you will work with students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in a dynamic public-school setting. Knowledge And Skills:

  • Proficient in core academic subjects
  • Strong understanding of curriculum and instruction
  • Able to effectively instruct students and manage classroom behavior
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a caseload
  • Absess student performance and track progress
  • Update IEPs throughout the school year to reflect goals and achievements
  • Teach small groups, catering to academically at-risk students in various categories
  • Collect, analyze, and use student data to inform instructional decisions
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators to discuss student progress
  • Prepare students for transitions between grades and graduation
  • Implement state learning standards and assessments
  • Submit weekly lesson plans and utilize technology for effective communication
  • Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives
  • Foster a positive and enthusiastic learning environment
  • Establish cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust and understanding
  • Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet students' needs
