About the role

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing individualized instruction to students with special needs in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs and state guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to support student learning and development.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by law and school policy.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
  • A valid teaching license in special education.
  • Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
