About the role
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing individualized instruction to students with special needs in a variety of settings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs and state guidelines.
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to support student learning and development.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Adapt lesson plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by law and school policy.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
- A valid teaching license in special education.
- Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
