Special Education Teacher

About the role

We're seeking passionate Special Education Teachers to support elementary students in Livermore, CA. This rewarding opportunity involves working with 1st and 2nd grade students in an SDC ESN classroom, helping them achieve meaningful academic, social, and developmental progress in a collaborative school environment.

Position Highlights

• Elementary School setting
• SDC ESN classroom
• Caseload capped at 13 students
• Schedule: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• 30-minute unpaid lunch
• Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to implement individualized learning plans

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations
• Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
• Foster a positive, supportive, and structured learning environment
• Participate in team meetings and parent conferences as needed

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university preferred
• Valid state teaching certification as required by state and district regulations
• Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred
• Standard Elementary, Secondary, and/or Special Education Teaching Certification preferred
• Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred
• Compliance with all professional standards of practice
• Current CPR certification, if applicable
• TB clearance as required
• Current health certificate, if applicable
• Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Compensation

Pay Rate: $60/hour
