Special Education Site Administrator

About the role

The Special Education Site Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing special education programs at Aspire Public Schools. This position involves coordinating and leading special education programs for diverse learners, collaborating with teachers, and ensuring compliance with special education regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee Individualized Education Program (IEP) documents and meetings
• Maintain and track student service and assessment data
• Engage parents and families in the IEP process and update them on student progress
• Coordinate with related service providers and maintain caseload compliance
• Facilitate data talks and provide professional development for special education team members
• Support general education teachers and implement appropriate strategies for students with IEPs
• Manage and develop behavior management systems for diverse learners
• Mentor Education Specialists and provide supervision and feedback
• Run compliance reports and ensure fidelity of IEP services
• Participate in SST processes and data analysis
• Build capacity through the management and development of Education Specialists and Special Populations Paraprofessionals/Instructional Aides

Requirements

• Cleared Special Education Teaching Credential (Mild-Moderate Support Needs/Extensive Support Needs)
• 3+ years as a Special Education Teacher
• 1+ years of experience coaching and observing teachers
• Minimum educational level: Bachelor’s degree required, with relevant degree and/or content expertise

Qualifications

• Comfortable with technology in a fast-paced environment
