Role Mission
The Special Education Co-Teacher position at IDEA aims to provide highly effective instruction to IDEA students while offering valuable experience in Special Education teaching.
What We Offer
Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $16.00 to $22.50, paid over a 12-month period.

What You Bring
Competencies: Demonstrated experience in a classroom setting, willingness to pursue a Special Education teaching certification, and strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (preferred), experience in a classroom setting or with children, and willingness to pursue a Special Education teaching certification.
Responsibilities
Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the facilitator and classroom teachers.
Aid in the implementation of Individual Education Plans for students and monitor their progress.
Provide support for individual students inside and outside of the classroom to enable full participation in activities.
Work with other professionals like speech therapists, social workers, occupational and physical therapists to assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records.
Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.
Assist with daily living tasks such as feeding, lifting, and toileting in the Life Skills Unit.
May need to assist with school bus rides to accompany students before or after school.
