Role Mission

The Special Education Co-Teacher position at IDEA aims to provide highly effective instruction to IDEA students while offering valuable experience in Special Education teaching.

• Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $16.05 to $23.17, paid over a 12-month period.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours required, bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Experience: Classroom experience or working with children.

• Licenses/Certifications: Willingness to pursue a Special Education teaching certification.

• Program Participation: Eligible to enroll in IDEA Special Education Certification Program (ISECP).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational and social development of students.

• Implement Individual Education Plans and monitor student progress.

• Support individual students inside and outside the classroom.

• Work with other professionals to assist students with emotional or behavioral concerns.

• Assist with daily living tasks in the Life Skills Unit.

• May need to assist with school bus rides to accompany students.
