Special Education Base Para: R2 Classroom ( 1 of 2)

Provides instructional, behavioral, social-emotional, personal, and supervisory support to students with significant and/or complex special education needs. Works under the direction of certificated staff to assist students in accessing instruction, participating meaningfully in the school environment, developing independence and functional skills, and making progress toward goals identified through their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

• Support students in accessing instruction and participating in the school environment
• Assist in developing students' independence and functional skills
• Help students make progress toward IEP goals
• Provide a higher level or intensity of adult assistance to ensure safe and successful participation in school activities
• May include recess and lunch supervision

Schedule

Full-time, assigned to the R2 special education program; may support multiple students throughout the school day.
