Salary & Benefits

  • $19.88 per hour plus benefits (Range 18); additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recent Greeley-Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $31.87 per hour plus benefits

Education & Experience Required

  • AA degree OR 48 semester hours OR passing scores on WorkKeys exam
  • CPI training preferred (training provided)
  • CPR/First Aid preferred (training provided)
  • Previous experience working in school setting or with children with special needs
  • Paraprofessional experience preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred, but not required

About the Role

Provide an enriched atmosphere where students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible members of society. Facilitate learning and guide students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, emotional and psychological growth and maturation. Responsible to the building principal and department director where assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Support the academic programming and progress of individual students and/or small groups of students with identified significant needs
  • Provide student-specific personal care and support
  • Assist with daily classroom activities
  • Assist in data collection
  • Sanitize equipment and materials

Qualifications

  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to perform the functions of the position
  • Ability to provide student-specific personal care support
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to move quickly from one position to another in response to student needs
  • Desire to work in a team setting
  • Positive attitude
  • Upper body strength with ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, manage numerous distractions, and maintain visual, auditory, and ambulatory acuity
  • Regular attendance required
