Special Education Assistant (26/27 School Year)

Responsibilities

• Monitor systems to ensure legal compliance for all mandated special services and IEPs, and 504 plans.
• Create Special Education teachers' caseload for the school year.
• Ensure Special Education teachers secure and upload Teacher Reports, Related Service Provider Reports, conduct Vocational Assessments, and draft IEPs in SESIS at least 10 days prior to the IEP meeting.
• Maintain Special Services Grading Policy adherence and ensure regular progress monitoring of IEP goals.
• Timely collection and distribution of Quarterly Progress reports.
• Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders on behalf of the Specialized Services Department.
• Ensure files are up to date, organized, and uphold compliance standards.
• Prepare meeting agendas, calendar invites, and take minutes for meetings led by the Director of Specialized Services.
• Remain abreast of all important dates pertaining to Inclusion and Special Services.
• Collaborate with the Director of Specialized Services to plan events.
• Meet established deadlines consistently.
• Support the Family and Community Partnership team by attending and engaging in family nights, report card nights, and occasional work events.
• Respond to correspondence from families, school leaders, culture teams, and teachers within 24 business hours.
• Model clear expectations and build strong relationships with staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of related, relevant experience
• At least 2 years of experience working with Special Education populations at the K-12 level
• At least 1 year of experience providing administrative support
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Solutions-oriented, determined, skilled leader with a strong track record of results
• Exceptional strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: $50,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience and education.
