Special Education (6:1:1) Teacher - Elementary School (Anticipated - 1.0 FTE)

About the role

This position is an anticipated 1.0 FTE probationary position for the 2026-2027 school year starting on August 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach students with disabilities in grades 1-6
• Implement special education strategies and techniques to support student learning
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills

Requirements

• Certification in Special Education (SWD 1-6, or SWD Birth-2, or SWD all grades preferred)
• Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred but not required

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Master's degree in Special Education preferred

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations

Pay

The starting salary is a minimum of $44,066 per year, step 1 base. Actual salary may vary based on graduate credentials, master's degree, and years of experience in public education.

Schedule

Work hours are from 8:35 am to 3:35 pm, Monday through Friday.
