About the role
This position is an anticipated 1.0 FTE probationary position for the 2026-2027 school year starting on August 31, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach students with disabilities in grades 1-6
- Implement special education strategies and techniques to support student learning
- Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
- Certification in Special Education (SWD 1-6, or SWD Birth-2, or SWD all grades preferred)
- Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred but not required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Master's degree in Special Education preferred
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations

Pay
The starting salary is a minimum of $44,066 per year, step 1 base. Actual salary may vary based on graduate credentials, master's degree, and years of experience in public education.
Schedule
Work hours are from 8:35 am to 3:35 pm, Monday through Friday.
