Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement ambitious, rigorous, and standards-aligned curricula, lesson plans, unit plans, and activities to meet and exceed academic standards
  • Design and implement rigorous assessments aligned to academic targets and use data to inform instructional development and delivery
  • Provide engaging, differentiated, and appropriately paced instruction in whole-class, small group, and individual settings
  • Establish and maintain a culture of achievement in the classroom; uphold school-wide systems, rules, disciplinary codes, and rewards consistently
  • Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student achievement data and strategically respond to student learning needs
  • Participate in professional development, training, community events, field trips, and additional school activities as needed throughout the year

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education required
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students
  • Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
  • Goal-driven, analytical problem solver with a strong work ethic and can-do spirit
  • Ability to take ownership of student achievement results and use feedback to continuously improve instructional practices

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Master's degree in Special Education preferred
  • Valid Tennessee Teaching Certification in Special Education preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of producing measurable student achievement gains
  • Experience working collaboratively within a high-performing team environment
