Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement ambitious, rigorous, and standards-aligned curricula, lesson plans, unit plans, and activities to meet and exceed academic standards
- Design and implement rigorous assessments aligned to academic targets and use data to inform instructional development and delivery
- Provide engaging, differentiated, and appropriately paced instruction in whole-class, small group, and individual settings
- Establish and maintain a culture of achievement in the classroom; uphold school-wide systems, rules, disciplinary codes, and rewards consistently
- Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student achievement data and strategically respond to student learning needs
- Participate in professional development, training, community events, field trips, and additional school activities as needed throughout the year
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Goal-driven, analytical problem solver with a strong work ethic and can-do spirit
- Ability to take ownership of student achievement results and use feedback to continuously improve instructional practices
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Master's degree in Special Education preferred
- Valid Tennessee Teaching Certification in Special Education preferred
- Demonstrated track record of producing measurable student achievement gains
- Experience working collaboratively within a high-performing team environment
