Responsibilities
- Maintains clear understanding of the Bank’s credit programs and policy and its adherence.
- Reports to supervisor all deviation from credit programs and policy.
- Oversees, with the direction of SAG Head, the quarterly PARM meetings to ensure timely execution of these meetings.
- Covers all transfers to SAG and coordinates with LOB to ensure all PARMs and CARs are migrated to the proper folders for presentation as necessary in PARM meetings.
- Supports Special Assets Officers by screening preliminary data and following up in obtaining required documentation, ensuring conformity to credit underwriting policy of the bank.
- Prepares documentation, memos, and/or presentation as needed.
- Captures and follows up on existing credit relationships, identifies necessary risk rating changes, errors or inconsistencies, and recommends modifications to risk rating as deemed appropriate.
- Reviews financial statements and analyzes a wide variety of financial structures and credit scenarios.
- Supports financial analysis with a high degree of accuracy in terms of figures and credit risk assessment.
- Identifies loan policy exceptions and industry/loan structure specific risks/issues with appropriate mitigating factors.
- Evaluates and monitors any current or prospective risks to earnings or capital arising from violations of, or nonconformance with, laws, rules, regulations, prescribed practices, internal policies and procedures or ethical standards.
- Aids in the review and measurement of Bank Borrower’s conformance with legal covenants, tracks compliance or non-compliance, and assists Credit Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers in collaborating with other bank units such as Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Credit Services, Closing areas, and Credit Risk.
- Completes or reviews and provides feedback on spread financial statements, comprehensive analysis, and credit packages according to Bank credit programs and policy.
- Administers and monitors maturities, delinquencies, and criticized assets reports on a regular basis, and assists in identifying any “red flags” or problems within the portfolio.
- Reports to supervisor all portfolio issues and irregularities found in these reports.
- Provides assistance in other areas within the department, as required, covering during vacation or absenteeism.
- Ensures preventive measures are carried out to fully comply with current rules, regulations and internal policies relating to risks pertaining to BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and other AML related issues.
- Affords support to management with ongoing projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance required.
- Formal credit training is preferred.
- 7+ years of professional experience in credit underwriting/credit analysis.
- Experience working in special/distressed/criticized assets required.
- Knowledgeable of banking products and documentation.
- Thorough understanding of the Bank’s credit procedures, programs and policy.
- Accounting and credit principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required; experience in SQL is a plus.
- Experience with Salesforce, nCino, FIS IBS is a plus.
- Sound time management and organizational skills required.
- Well organized and systematic.
- Strong communication skills.
