Spanish and EL LTS - Secondary

Centrally located on Interstate 94 less than 25 miles northwest of Maple Grove and 30 miles southeast of Saint Cloud, Monticello is home to five brick-and-mortar schools and two nature-based facilities serving more than 4,000 students annually. Monticello consistently ranks in the top 50 school districts in the state and performs above the state average in graduation rates, test scores, and early college opportunities.

About the role

This temporary, full-time position spans two assignments: two sections of middle-school Spanish, one section of middle-school EL Math support, and the remainder in the high-school EL program. Assignment runs from August 24, 2026 through September 30, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction aligned with the Minnesota Academic Standards for each content area
• Establish a culture for learning that supports the district’s mission, beliefs, and strategic plan
• Inspire and engage all students in relevant learning experiences
• Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and family information

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid Minnesota teaching license in Spanish and/or English Learner (EL)
• Experience working with diverse students and families; training in Culturally Linguistically Responsive (CLR) methods preferred

Pay

Daily long-term substitute rate: $258
