About the Role
This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of employees delivering spa services, including salon, skin care, program coordination, reservations, reception desk, massage, and locker room areas. The role focuses on ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while achieving the operating budget.
Responsibilities
- Assumes the responsibilities of the Spa Director in their absence.
- Ensures all employees have the proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
- Comprehends budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports to assist in financial management.
- Manages supplies and equipment inventories within budget.
- Maintains cleanliness of the spa, related areas, and equipment.
- Understands the impact of department operations on overall property financial goals and manages to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
- Sets a positive example for guest relations and interacts with guests to obtain feedback on service quality.
- Handles guest problems and complaints while empowering employees to provide excellent customer service.
- Emphasizes guest satisfaction during departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
- Solicits employee feedback using an "open door" policy and reviews employee satisfaction results to address concerns.
- Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters, and brings issues to the attention of management or HR as needed.
- Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals.
- Participates in employee progressive discipline procedures and recognition programs.
- Reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
- Supports a spa orientation program for new hires and supervises ongoing training initiatives.
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees.
- Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes team contributions.
- Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently, supporting the Peer Review Process.
- Assists the Spa Director in managing day-to-day operations as necessary.
- Learns and exemplifies The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards, including the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience in the spa, guest services, or a related professional area.
Pay
Pay Range: $68,000 - $86,000 annually. Bonus eligible.
