About the Role

This management position is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of employees delivering spa services, including salon, skin care, program coordination, reservations, reception desk, massage, and locker room areas. The role focuses on ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while achieving the operating budget.

Responsibilities

• Assume the responsibilities of the Spa Director in their absence.
• Ensure all employees have the proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Comprehend budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports to assist in financial management.
• Manage supplies and equipment inventories within budget.
• Maintain cleanliness of the spa, related areas, and equipment.
• Understand the impact of department operations on overall property financial goals and manage to meet or exceed budgeted targets.
• Set a positive example for guest relations and interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
• Handle guest problems and complaints effectively.
• Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and emphasize guest satisfaction in all departmental meetings.
• Solicit employee feedback using an "open door" policy and address employee problems or concerns.
• Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters, and bring issues to the attention of the department manager and Human Resources as needed.
• Observe service behaviors of employees and provide feedback to individuals.
• Participate in employee progressive discipline procedures and recognition programs.
• Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
• Support a Spa orientation program for new hires to ensure they receive appropriate training.
• Supervise ongoing training initiatives and conduct training when appropriate.
• Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensure teamwork within the department.
• Celebrate successes and publicly recognize team members' contributions.
• Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently, following Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
• Assist the Spa Director in managing day-to-day spa operations as necessary.
• Uphold and exemplify The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards, including the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience in the spa, guest services, or a related professional area.

Pay

Pay Range: $70,304 - $83,000 annually. Bonus eligible.
