About the role
The Assistant Manager provides strategic oversight of agronomy operations and promotes the growth of Agtegra’s agronomy business, with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service. This role involves assisting with customer relationships, budgeting, profit and loss stewardship, and managing staff while carrying out supervisory functions in accordance with applicable laws and Agtegra's policies and safety culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the sales of agronomy products and services, maintain inventory, coordinate with accounting, and communicate with customers regarding payments, payment options, credit policy, and agreements.
- Execute processes and operate machinery and equipment, including loading chemical, seed, or fertilizer. This position involves frequent operation of Payloaders, Skidloaders, Tractor/Mowers, Locomotives, Telehandlers, and Forklifts.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment to troubleshoot, perform light maintenance, and complete repair work.
- Interact regularly with customers, peers, and management to provide exceptional customer service, pursue continuous improvement of facility operations, and promote a teamwork-focused environment.
- Coach and motivate team members to meet performance standards through feedback, goal setting, and consistent application of policies and practices.
- Provide leadership in managing team performance, including setting measurable goals, tracking metrics, and holding employees accountable.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, requirements, policies, and procedures, including OSHA regulations, vehicle policy, fleet safety program, and DOT regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate's degree (A.A.) and 1–5 years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a CDL.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).
- Ability to perform physical job duties, including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator.
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above) and confined spaces.
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends, holidays, or different shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL is beneficial.
