Sow Farm Manager - Blairsburg, IA

About the role

The Sow Farm Manager oversees an on-farm team to ensure the herd's animal care, breeding, and productivity meet the Iowa Select Farms production goals.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages farm staff to ensure daily animal care, including feed/water access and barn environment.
• Plans and executes farm staff schedules and promotes sound animal husbandry practices.
• Trains, guides, and disciplines farm staff as needed.
• Maintains farm facilities and orders necessary supplies and medications.
• Maintains accurate records and provides regular feedback to the supervisor on herd performance.
• Works with veterinary staff to address herd health issues and adheres to ISF policies.
• Maintains a positive team culture and collaborates with HR and other departments.
• Adheres to ISF biosecurity and animal wellbeing policies.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish, with fluency in both written and verbal communication.
• At least 5 years’ experience in swine production operations.
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
