About the role
Responsible for procurement (e.g., purchasing and supply chain activities), as well as vendor management (e.g., negotiation, purchase, and relationships associated with outsourced services).
Responsibilities
- Accountable for obtaining goods / services required by the organization including Indirect Operations (e.g., Office Supplies, Computers, Travel, Maintenance, Machine Parts, etc.) and Direct Operations (e.g., Raw Materials and Services for Manufacturing, Production or Construction; Products for Retail, etc.).
- Product / Service Sourcing
- Supplier Selection
- Pricing / Terms Negotiation
- Order Processing
- Contract Administration
- Supplier Performance Management
Strategic Sourcing
- Establishing supplier relationship management processes and continuous improvement goals/programs.
- Negotiating contracts and coordinating supplier integration plans with internal clients.
- Maintains awareness of market dynamics that impact materials/services availability and/or pricing.
- Partners with internal clients to identify sourcing needs, develop buyer/market profiles, identify marketplace trends, and define acceptable service levels.
Supplementary Duties
Works on problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals. Applies research towards the planning, design development, testing, and completion of projects. Impact is short-term, occasionally on medium-term goals. Continues building knowledge of organization and processes. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
