About the role
API Heat Transfer, a global leader in specialty heat exchangers and heat transfer solutions with over 140 years of industry-leading performance, is seeking a Sourcing Manager to develop and implement procurement processes. This critical position drives continuous improvement in sourcing, planning, and delivery, focusing on key metrics such as On-Time Delivery, Fill Rates, Inventory Turns, and Slow Moving & Obsolete Inventory. The role oversees SIOP, Sourcing, Vendor Management, Logistics, Procurement, Inventory Control, and material productivity savings.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic insight by identifying and implementing processes to improve lead-times, costs, cash flow/inventory, and service by monitoring and analyzing the flow of goods.
- Lead sourcing activities to onboard and validate new vendors locally and globally.
- Collaborate with Engineering for quoting new products to ensure lead time and material availability.
- Identify and manage current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to meet customer needs.
- Implement cost-effective logistics practices and inventory levels while meeting customer delivery requirements.
- Analyze data and prepare managerial reports to recommend actions for optimal supply chain execution.
- Focus on total cost of acquisition optimization.
- Plan, recommend, justify, and manage annual operating budgets and financial targets.
- Manage material cost and schedule impact of proposed engineering changes and ensure successful implementation.
- Represent the site on API Functional Councils to develop and leverage common best practices and standard processes.
- Manage and develop a team responsible for facility procurement and inventory.
- Drive professional development and cross-training within Supply Chain.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in full-scope supply chain leadership.
- Proficient knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and equipment.
- 5+ years of managing direct reports and large-scale operations preferred.
- Experience creating and delivering integrated supply chain strategies.
- Experience in Mexico and China is a plus.
- Experience with low-volume, high-mix, engineered-to-order environments preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, PLEX preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or similar field required.
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), or related professional certification preferred.

Pay
$100,000 - $110,000 per year.
