Role Overview
The Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Ultrasound) performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging on adult and pediatric patients, including abdominal, obstetrical, and vascular studies. The role involves ensuring equipment readiness, conducting procedures independently, documenting findings, and assisting with needle procedures such as biopsies and drainages.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound examinations and document results accurately.
- Ensure proper functioning and readiness of ultrasound equipment.
- Work independently, including on-call and portable exams as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate degree or Trade School equivalency.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification.
- PREFERRED: Experience in general ultrasound; breast ultrasound experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform studies independently and handle on-call duties.
- Optional certifications such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and RDCS.
This PRN position involves rotating shifts, including weekends and on-call hours. Candidates may be recent graduates, radiology students, or experienced sonographers seeking flexible work.
