About the role
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures to examine tissues and body structures, producing high-quality images for interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Sets up and adjusts equipment
- Maneuvers transducers to obtain optimal images
- Ensures safety and quality control during procedures
- Performs routine and complex ultrasound studies
- Recognizes pathology and artifacts
- Maintains equipment functionality
- Submits accurate images to PACS
- Upholds departmental cleanliness and regulatory compliance
Requirements
- Completion of a sonography program
- No prior experience required
- Physical stamina, including frequent standing, lifting, and reaching
Licenses & Certifications
- BLS (AHA)
- RDMS with relevant specialties (e.g., ABD, OB, MSK)
- Additional ARDMS or CCI credentials depending on specialty
