Sonographer, Part-Time, Weekends

This professional staff technologist position will have an impact on quality, safety and the patient experience.

Qualifications

• Education Required: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
• Education Preferred: Associates degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
• Experience Preferred: Two years of ultrasound experience
• License Required: Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate, or registry eligible. If registry eligible, must obtain registration within 12 months of hire date.
• Certification Required: Basic Life Support

Job Functions

• Educates and informs patients and family members throughout the patients’ experience.
• Communicates effectively with the healthcare team utilizing established handoff procedures.
• Gives and accepts respectful feedback to enhance teamwork.
• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
• Uses sonographic skills to identify, record, and modify procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
• Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
• Analyses sonograms, incorporates sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.
• Collaborates with the radiology team to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and work area and maintains adequate supplies.
• Participates in the maintenance of the accreditation process.

Additional Details

• On-call requirement: On-call coverage is required approximately once every 16 weeks. On-call schedule runs from Friday at 11:00 PM to Monday at 7:00 AM. Call coverage is limited to covering sick calls at the Main Hospital on weekends only.
• Holiday Rotation: 1–2 holidays per year. Holiday shifts are 8-hours only.

Pay Range

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
