Sonographer - OB / GYN - Per diem

About the role

The Sonographer performs high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations within the OB/GYN division, ensuring patient safety, accurate imaging, and timely communication of preliminary findings. This role supports clinical teams by preparing exam rooms, reviewing patient histories, and maintaining compliance with professional, regulatory, and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

• Clinical assessments and performing diagnostic ultrasound exams
• Reviewing patient history, evaluating images, and preparing preliminary findings for physicians
• Communicating clearly with patients, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety
• Using proper positioning, equipment adjustments, and ergonomic scanning techniques
• Documenting exam limitations and maintaining accurate ultrasound records
• Preparing exam rooms and equipment for daily use
• Reporting equipment issues and supporting ongoing EPIC and system-wide integration initiatives
• Adhering to HIPAA, infection control, and organizational policies
• Maintaining required certifications and participating in ongoing professional development

Requirements

• A graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification and NH Board of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy licensure
• Experienced in a healthcare setting and knowledgeable about sonographic equipment
• Skilled at communicating results to physicians and supporting patients with compassion
• Able to work independently and collaboratively, even in emergent situations
• Detail-oriented, focused, and comfortable managing multiple distractions while delivering excellent patient care
