Sonographer - OB/GYN

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Sonographer to perform advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures, collaborate with radiologists, and serve as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic ultrasound exams independently following protocols.
• Assist radiologists with guided procedures across various settings.
• Review and ensure quality of imaging prior to transmission.
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards; perform quality control.
• Manage departmental operations including inventory and equipment maintenance.
• Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and respecting privacy.

Requirements

• Completion of a CAHEA-approved training program in diagnostic sonography.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible within 1 year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 years sonographer experience.
• Proficiency in computer applications and effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of abdominal anatomy and pathology.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Physical & Environmental Demands

This role involves medium physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to blood, body fluids, and potentially hazardous environments.
