Solutions Architect, Amazon Web Services, WWPS SA - State & Local Government -West

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate the growth of our State and Local Government business, particularly within the Higher Education vertical. This role involves helping customers design and create cloud computing architectures, providing technical design and thought leadership, and collaborating with a sales and business development team.

Responsibilities

• Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
• Defining implementation architectures and responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs)
• Developing a deep expertise in AWS technologies and broader knowledge of application and service construction on the AWS platform
• Being a subject matter expert on security related to customer applications and services
• Providing exceptional technical design and thought leadership to customers
• Leading efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community

Requirements

• Technical presentation experience, including whiteboard and small/large group presentations
• Experience in web services development/deployment and cloud computing
• Experience in web site/service operations, management, and security
• Experience in the higher education industry
• Intermediate/advanced knowledge of AWS services
• Prior experience in a technical role within a sales organization
• Experience in state or local government
• Understanding of infrastructure and security requirements such as HIPAA, CJIS, etc.
• Demonstrated experience leading or developing high-quality, enterprise-scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle

Qualifications

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
• 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries

Pay

$131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually
