About the role
AWS is looking for a cleared Solutions Architect to support our Global Systems Integrator partners and shape opportunities for our government customers. This role is located in DC. On our Global Systems Integrator team, you will provide exceptional technical design, architecture, and thought leadership while working with a world class sales and business development team. You will lead efforts to capture and share best-practice knowledge with the AWS solution architect community and gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.
As a Solutions Architect, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., Amazon Lambda, Amazon S3, Amazon EC2, and Amazon CloudFront) directly with our ecosystem of systems integrators, consulting and technology partners.
Responsibilities
- Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects
- Defining implementation architectures
- Assisting partners respond to RFPs
- Developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies, as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform
- Serving as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
Requirements
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
- US Citizenship
Qualifications
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization

Pay & benefits
Base salary range: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually (Arlington, VA and Herndon, VA locations).
Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
