About the role
This position is responsible for selling the company’s solutions—including products, labor, and services—primarily to “end-user” customers. You will up-sell and cross-sell to the existing customer base, maintain and develop positive customer relationships, achieve or exceed assigned annual and quarterly quotas, and grow the company’s recurring monthly revenue (RMR) business.
Responsibilities
- Use technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in purchasing products and services, driving revenue generation.
- Conduct site surveys to prepare customer needs analysis and estimates.
- Prepare statements of work (SOW) and corresponding sales estimates.
- Deliver sales presentations to customers and management as required.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of company services and maintain sound knowledge of all product lines offered.
- Partner with internal departments to communicate job scopes and relay customer needs.
- Attract new customers and up-sell existing clients through field sales, phone sales, and direct marketing efforts.
- Utilize excellent cold-calling skills to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Generate sales leads and customer account information.
- Create proposals outlining preventive maintenance plans, scope of repairs, and solutions.
- Review testing reports and collaborate with Service Technicians to quantify service repair proposals based on system inspection discrepancies.
- Assist in marketing initiatives related to sales activities, including developing sales and business plans.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or three (3) to five (5) years of professional experience in high-volume sales within a fast-paced environment.
- A minimum of five (5) years of industry experience as a successful sales representative.
- Consistently met or exceeded sales performance for the past three (3) to five (5) years.
- Professional knowledge and in-depth understanding of most of the following systems: fire alarm/life-safety, intrusion alarm, access control, video surveillance, nurse-call, and low-voltage systems, including installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance.
- Ability to organically grow business by providing solutions to new and existing clients.
- Strong ability to build customer relationships through consultative selling and promoting customer confidence in Everon.
- Technical aptitude with an understanding of drawings and codes.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Excellent negotiation and prospecting skills.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to present to senior-level executives.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work a full-time schedule and travel as needed, including nights and weekends, to accommodate customer schedules, trainings, and meetings.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, materials, policies, and procedures in English.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise level in a typical office and field environment.
- Work may take place at construction sites and customer facilities.
- Ability to work extended hours to support business requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, twist, use hands, push, pull, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
