Solar Field Service Technician 1

About the role

Our advanced Solar Field Service Technicians (Photovoltaic Repair) specialize in inspecting and maintaining photovoltaic (PV) solar panel systems. This is a 100% travel role.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot inverters, combiner boxes, and replace/repair string lines.
• Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), IV Curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and infrared (IR) scans.
• Maintain solar power plants according to established standards and procedures.
• Lead safety protocols and maintain professionalism.
• Troubleshoot solar system problems and resolve issues promptly.
• Document work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules.
• Operate vehicles safely and legally per the PEARCE Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
• Maintain PEARCE company vehicles in a clean, presentable, and functional state.

Requirements

• 1+ years' experience on commercial and/or utility scale solar sites.
• Experience with electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs.
• Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures, including NFPA 70E/OSHA 10 training.
• Proficiency with troubleshooting electrical components using digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
• Ability to test installed equipment and perform daily mechanical and electrical inspections.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
• Physical ability to lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
• Ability to work rotating shifts and in various weather conditions.

Pay

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location. The base pay range is $29 USD - $40 USD.
