Software Web Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Software Web Developer to design, develop, and maintain our software products through the development of web applications and websites that support REDCOM's New Vertical Product Capability. Essential functions

• Design, develop, manage, maintain and support REDCOM software products
• Work individually or within a team to implement specific features and resolve customer issues
• Acquire an expert level understanding of technologies and protocols relevant to REDCOM products

Required knowledge and skills

• Development of websites and web applications as well as maintaining existing code
• Front-end and back-end development, including seamless integration of front- to back-end functionality
• Model-View Controller (MVC) and modern web frameworks
• PHP expertise
• Effective use of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS
• SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Development of APIs (REST/JSON)
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the software development field
• BS or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent

• Telecommunications and Chat protocols; including SIP, XMPP
• IP Networking technologies and protocols
• Bootstrap
• CodeIgniter
• Vue.js
• Testing tools, including Selenium and PHPUnit
• FreeBSD, Linux or other current Unix environments
• GIT
• Apache
• Security and encryption
• CMFF / Modular Systems: Familiarity with or ability to quickly ramp up on CMOSS Mounted Form Factor (CMFF), open architecture standards, and C5ISR/EW capabilities is highly desired

Other duties

• Complete special projects and perform other duties as necessary

Working conditions

• Work in office environment
• Travel on an exception basis only
• May require extended work hours to meet project or customer requirements

Physical requirements

• Must be able to work at a computer/computer workstation for extended periods of time
