Software Systems Engineer Product Owner (Engagement Operations)

About the Role
The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Engagement Operations Team Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). The PO will be responsible for the prioritization and validation of development software for the Engagement Operations team. This includes reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, and providing guidance to the development team. The Product Owner will work with Program management to set priorities for capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint. The role involves technical briefings and advisement to leadership on status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and validate development software for the Engagement Operations team.
- Review and understand Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms.
- Provide guidance to the development team.
- Work with Program management to set priorities for capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint.
- Conduct technical briefings and advisement to leadership on status, risks, and recommended courses of action.
- Verify the development team’s work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria.
- Work directly with Agile software developers.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD experience in performing the essential duties listed.
- Obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
- Basic understanding of Engagement Operations (EO) concepts, including engagement planning/scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.
- Ability to provide oversight to EO software development team.
- Fluency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS, and familiarity with current EO implementations in one or more of the DoD services.
- Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team is a plus.
