About the role
The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). The PO will be responsible for the prioritization and validation of development software for a Force Operations (FO) Software (SW) development team.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, providing guidance to the development team.
- Support the team in developing acceptance criteria for software updates and verify their implementation.
- Work with Program management to set priorities for capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint.
- Conduct technical briefings, demonstrations, and advisement to leadership.
- Report on status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.
Requirements
- Good understanding of defense design and large system capabilities, including resource laydown, plans and orders from higher echelon units (HEUs), radar initialization parameters, defense plan evaluation, and user interfaces.
- Ability to provide oversight to an FO SW development team and verify work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria, including attending code reviews.
- Ability to work directly with Agile software developers.
- Fluency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
- Minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience performing the essential duties listed above.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS is a plus.
- Prior experience as a Product Owner of a SW development SCRUM team is a plus.
