Mission Description
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain complex software solutions supporting mission-critical systems, large-scale data processing, advanced analytics, and enterprise applications.
Analyze user and system requirements to develop software design solutions.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
Integrate software into new and existing systems and operating environments.
Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts.
Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment.
Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver mission-focused solutions.
Support software quality assurance, configuration management, and release activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
Additional Responsibilities
Lead software design and architecture efforts.
Mentor and guide junior engineers.
Oversee technical execution across development teams.
Drive software quality, performance optimization, and process improvements.
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and engineering approaches.
Serve as a technical lead for large-scale software development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 14+ years of software engineering experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
- Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical efforts and mentoring engineering teams.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies:
- Java, Python, JavaScript
- HTML5, CSS3
- Git, Maven, Nexus, Jenkins
- Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Spring Framework, Hibernate, Web Services
- MySQL and relational databases
- Bash and Shell scripting
- SonarQube and automated testing tools
- Grafana, Kibana, Nagios, or similar monitoring tools
- Microservices architecture and container orchestration
- Agile software development methodologies
