About the role

As a seasoned member of an agile team within Consumer & Community Banking at JPMorganChase, you will design and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. This role involves carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support the firm's business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards. Contribute learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
  • Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to enhance the value realized by automation.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use these insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage.
  • Experience designing and implementing Android applications.
  • Proficiency in Java, MVVM, MVI, Kotlin Coroutines, Compose, Dagger, RxJava, Kotlin, JUnit, Mockito, and Git.
  • Experience with Jetpack Compose for building UIs and Kotlin Coroutines for asynchronous programming.
  • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON; familiarity with RxJava, LiveData, and Restful API integration.
  • Ability to unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Strong understanding of the Java and Android ecosystem.
  • Excellent understanding of mobile UI fundamentals, from layout to animations.
  • Understanding of architectural patterns such as MVI and MVVM.
  • Understanding of application design patterns (Gang of Four patterns).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies.
