Software Engineer, Developer Success

About the role

The Developer Success team at Discord is building the tools for game developers to make their experiences even better. We focus on fostering better and deeper relationships through gaming, and we’re looking for a talented software engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Building features for game developers across the Discord app, developer portal, APIs, realtime infrastructure, and Social SDK.
• Collaborating with other engineers on your team to write, review, and ship elegant and scalable code.
• Owning your projects end-to-end, from initial design through post-launch.
• Helping break high-level ideas into concrete tasks with milestones, building and shipping them.
• Listening and working with our game developer partners to better understand their needs in order to improve our features and tools.
• Working with product managers, designers, and partner managers to find the way forward through ambiguity.
• Using your attention to detail to continually raise the quality bar of the software we write.

Requirements

• At least 1-3 years experience as a software engineer.
• Experience with game development.
• Experience with some parts of our tech stack: Python, Elixir, Rust, Typescript/React, or C++.
• A sense for product and design.
• You don't need expertise in all of them, but you should be comfortable picking up new languages and learning new systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with mobile development is a plus.
• Experience with Unreal and/or Unity game engines is a plus.

• Leveraging AI coding tools to accelerate productivity.

Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a US base salary range of $160,000 to $180,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level, and individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
