Software Engineer, Backend (Consumer - Risk)

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services for risk detection and fraud prevention
• Own the complete delivery process of risk platform features
• Collaborate with Data Science and Risk Analysis teams on risk systems
• Improve reliability and observability in risk services
• Contribute to engineering culture by improving code quality and velocity

Qualifications

• 2+ years in backend software engineering with production service experience
• Proficient in backend languages like Go, Ruby, Python, or Java
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns and algorithms
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency systems or distributed systems fundamentals
• Effective communicator collaborating across engineering and data science teams
• Able to responsibly utilize generative AI tools
• Experience in risk, fraud detection, or payment systems
• Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization
