Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Consumer - Prediction Markets)

Responsibilities

• Own backend services for the entire lifecycle of prediction markets
• Design low-latency, high-throughput systems for a real-time financial product
• Drive system reliability and performance, managing Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and incident response
• Establish technical standards through code and design reviews while reducing technical debt
• Mentor fellow engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product and technical vision

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience, managing complex distributed systems
• Proficient in backend languages such as Go, Ruby, Python, or Java; experienced in designing microservices and high-availability systems
• Demonstrated history of end-to-end project delivery, from scoping to monitoring and iteration
• Experience in regulated financial environments where performance and correctness are paramount
• Skilled in making product decisions that balance technical trade-offs with user experience
• Understands responsible use of generative AI to enhance workflow efficiency and overall quality

Pay

$186,065 – $218,900 annually
