About the role
The future of software development is agentic. AWS is building Kiro — a frontier AI coding agent that tackles development tasks end-to-end, retains context across complex workflows, and continuously learns from its work. Kiro is already transforming how developers build and maintain software, and we're just getting started. We're looking for engineers who want to shape this transformation.

- Solve novel problems at the intersection of AI and software engineering
- Orchestrating AI workflows across dozens of models
- Building context systems that make every interaction smarter than the last
- Scaling AI infrastructure to meet AWS's exacting standards for reliability and security
- Ship features that directly improve how developers work
- From launching new models in hours, to building intelligent routing, to designing the context layer that makes Kiro genuinely understand your project
- Lead ownership of critical systems, define technical direction for new capabilities, and shape team operations
- Work across distributed systems, real-time streaming, multi-model orchestration, and AI infrastructure at scale
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl
