Software Development Engineer, CloudWatch Application Signals
About the role
The CloudWatch Application Observability team is dedicated to delighting customers by helping them operate their applications through a highly available, scalable, and secure service that instruments, observes, and monitors their applications and AI agents. We build curated solutions that enable customers to operate their applications effectively. With an exciting charter for 2026 and beyond, we aim to create observability solutions for both traditional and agentic workloads.
As an experienced engineer on this team, you will collaborate closely with engineering staff, product managers, and UX designers, as well as interact directly with customers. You will play a key role in defining the technology strategies of our product, act as a technical leader, and serve as a force-multiplier within the team. This role offers the unique opportunity to build, influence, and shape new AWS services.

Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
- 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1+ years of Object-Oriented Design experience
- 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Pay
USA, CA, Santa Clara - $165,200.00 - $223,600.00 USD annually
Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
